I have just been listening to this on my ipod on repeat. I love the range and timbre of his voice on this.
Isn't it strange re how we differ on what we like, seeing as how we're all fans of the same person? Personally, I absolutely hate his cover of this song & I thought that he totally crucified it. I remember watching it on TV and actually wincing when he hit those high notes! [img]eek.gif[/img] lol

I don't think it's strange to like different things about the same artist - if I recall you don't like Void Terry where as I do. I suppose on a baser level it is seen in the Blonde or Black hair debate !!! [img]smile.gif[/img]
I liked his TV performance of it because of his stillness and simplicity, justhim and a piano. He did go a peircingly high but I thought it worked in this case.
On the subject of ears hurting - mine hurt when he sang insatiable at the SBE last year(winces.

The thing is, I was so looking forward to hearing him and I did enjoy the beginning of it but OMG! when he hit those screechers, I found it to be an absolutely excruciating experience. My husband actually laughed out load when he saw me flinch! lol
Yep, Insatiable at the SBE was a bit of a struggle wasn't it? (I reckon he must be sick to death of singing it now).

LOL I cant remember it at all. I think I did hear it at one point. I dont think it did to much for me at the time.
But I do know I hate it when he goes too high with that voice.

I've only heard it a few times when it came out and I didn't like it. To each there own
Covers I truly adore are, I Wish You Heaven and that is quiet a high range vocally. In Your Eyes I like too.
I really love how he sings Lost Without You too even though thats not a cover. (much better than the original IMO)
